Hello!
I am glad to see that you are interested in the MIND diet, too. I was really excited when I first read about it. After thinking about how I would learn more about it and maintain my interest, I decided to start a blog.
My main goal is to provide ideas about how to follow the MIND diet. I will be exploring the 10 types of foods that are recommended to eat and the 5 that are not recommended. Mostly, I will provide recipes and methods I used to make my diet comply more closely with the MIND diet guidelines.
I also will add short pieces on the research that supports the MIND diet (or doesn’t support it, if I find such). I like to know WHY things work or at least might work, so I will be exploring this angle. I will also provide links to posts about the MIND diet that contain new or useful information, like this MIND diet poster.
I hope you will come back to explore this diet along with me. I am currently posting only once every two or three weeks. Please review my posts and read the ones that interest you. If you want to know when I have made a new post, be sure to subscribe. I welcome your comments and questions.
Thank you for all of this great information! I have just learned about the MIND diet and am interested in following it. Your blog will make that much easier! My mother has late stage Alzheimers and I am extremely interested in anything I can do to reduce my own risk to this terrible disease.
Thanks for the link to that Prevention website poster! I cut and paste it into a nice Word document and stuck it on my fridge. GREAT reminder. Thanks!
I have a lot of questions that the book doesn’t cover. For example, is pork considered red meat? What about peanut butter. What about things like splenda? I’m hoping your blog will cover some of the questions that really aren’t answered in the book. Is whole wheat bread a whole grain? I’ m thinking not. Thanks in advance for your blog. Ellen
What is the status of goats cheese in the mind diet. I have been using it in place of cows cheese as it is said to be chloestrolneutral
only one serving of cheese per week, it’s tough, I have 2 dairy cows…
I found a site indicating that goat cheese is the healthiest cheese for you (you probably already knew that) and that organic cheeses have 62% more omega 3s in them (among other things).
Hi there! I’m a science writer working on a story for a national magazine about how diets could influence dementia risk. I’d love to get in touch with you about your experiences following the MIND diet. I’m sorry to get in tough through a comment, but I couldn’t find contact info for you on your site. Please email me if you’re interested in hearing more about my piece and potentially chatting with me. Thank you!
My aim is to plan 1200 mg of calcium in my daily foods, without supplements. I want to mesh this with the MIND diet, as I have Alzheimers in my family. Any info you can provide is appreciated.
